About Us

RMMRU a center for evidence-based research and grassroots action. Since its inception in 1995, RMMRU has worked diligently to illuminate the potential of migration to initiate pro-poor growth and poverty reduction in South Asia. By cooperating with regional and global organizations, RMMRU continues to facilitate collaborative research that effectively integrates and links global migration discourse with regional grassroots programs in order to identify and eradicate the key issues affecting Bangladeshi migrants. RMMRU’s strong tie to local migration programs and role as an academic leader in migration discourse continues bridging the gap between scholars and grassroots trailblazers. Date: 28th April, 2026

RMMRU is going to organise a dissemination workshop titled Adaptation Challenges of Climate-linked Migrants in Bangladesh and Locally-led Solutions at the CIRDAP International Conference Center on 28th April 2026. Mr. Zahir Uddin Swapan, MP, Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will attend the workshop as the Chief Guest. Mr. Md. Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki, MP, Honourable State Minister of Ministry of Planning and Ms. Lisa-Tanita Greminger, Regional Advisor for Migration and Protection of Embassy of Switzerland in Bangladesh will attend as a Guest of Honour. Representatives from different ministry, department, NGO, INGO and Civil Society will also attend the workshop.

Working Papers
Over the course of the past twenty-six years, RMMRU has accumulated a large amount of valuable research. Most of this research has gone into developing relevant papers, however, only a handful of these papers are actually published. Subsequently, we have a bunch of research that is currently inaccessible to the public. Recently we decided to change that.
